What To Expect When Visiting Our Church

Regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey, we’re sure you’ll find our congregation welcoming, and our teaching inspiring and relevant to your life. Whether you’re interested in coming to one of our services or attending one of our special events, we hope that you will give us the opportunity to know you.

Prayer: During the worship service several of the men will lead the congregation in public prayers.

Acts 2:42 "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Singing: We will sing several songs and hymns together, led by one or more song leaders. These will be sung acapella (without the accompaniment of musical instruments). We sing in this manner because it follows the pattern of the first century church and this is the only kind of music authorized in the New Testament for worship.

Ephesians 5:19 "speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,"

Bible Study: We engage in Bible study, primarily through preaching of the Word, but also through Bible reading and direct teaching.

2nd Timothy 4:1–2 "I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching."

At the close of the sermon, an invitation will be extended to any who wish to respond. To learn more about Christianity, to become a Christian or to ask for prayers of the church, please make your need known.

Our worship service is considered traditional for churches of Christ.  It is not contemporary or instrumental. We strive to worship God in Spirit and Truth.

John 4:24 "God is Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."

Our lessons and sermons are designed to edify each other and increase our knowledge of God’s word by giving us application for this present day. We teach that we must not merely be hearers of the word, but doers of it (James 1:22). We preach that we should accurately teach the word of truth with sound doctrine (2 Timothy 2:15, 3:2-5).

According to the pattern given to us in the New Testament, we partake of the Lord’s Supper each first day of the week (Acts 20:7).  The Supper consists of unleavened bread and fruit of the vine as memorials of the body and blood of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:23-26).

Giving As We Prosper

The Scriptures tell us that on the first day of each week we are to put aside and save as we may prosper (1 Corinthians 16:1-2).  As our guest you are not expected to give when the tray is passed among us.  Giving at this time is a scriptural responsibility of the members only.

When you attend one of our worship assemblies, know that you will be loved by our members (Matthew 22:39). We hope that our encouragement will be something you are looking for.

We are committed to helping each other lead lives devoted to Jesus, and helping people from all backgrounds develop their spiritual lives.

It will be a joy and a blessing to worship the Lord with you!
